Join us for an afternoon intensive on the Art of Thai Massage on Sept 24 from 3-6pm at The Green Yogi Telegraph!
Take this wonderful opportunity to develop your sensitivity and awareness through touch with seasoned bodywork practitioners and yoga teachers Alok and Anjuli. Come with a partner, good friend, or join us solo to deepen your innate capacity to give and receive a healing massage sequence.
This workshop will focus on grounding, earthy gestures perfect for the season. We’ll be introducing the rooted and effortless use of our feet and sitsbones as tools for some parts of the sequence that create a deeply nourishing experience for the receiver. If you have joined us for our last two workshops, this session will add a new flow and unique skills to your repertoire. If this is your first time with us, congratulations! You’ll be getting a wonderful sequence to begin your journey in Thai Massage.
Anjuli & Alok have been teaching together for 12 years and have studied with master teachers in the healing arts around the world. Their teaching blends Thai Massage, Zen Shiatsu, Acupressure, and Myofascial Release techniques and theory. Rooted in the principles of Thai Medicine and Buddhist spirituality, their practice is framed by respect for all beings, balanced action, and loving-kindness. Attention to the Chinese Meridians and specific acupressure points will be included. Through joint mobilization, mindful passive stretching, acupressure, and emphasis on the breath, you will learn valuable therapeutic techniques.
With proper body mechanics, the practice truly becomes an effortless dance between giver and receiver. As yogis themselves, your teachers will emphasize how to cultivate fluidity and ease while giving. They will share fundamental skills to help release tension and learn how to give a nourishing full body massage. This training is great for anyone interested in refining their sense of touch and no experience is needed.
