IN STUDIO WORKSHOP at 2807 Telegraph Ave, Berkeley, CA 94705
Join us for a 6-week storytelling workshop using mindfulness practices and play to craft personal narratives for an empowering final performance!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our stories create our reality.
We tell stories constantly - we replay experiences in our minds, we share our anecdotes and personal histories with others.
And yet how do the stories we tell about ourselves actually make us feel? Are we empowered by them? Or are there stale narratives keeping us from radiating our full, authentic selves?
The "yoga of storytelling" is the practice of yoking our truth with our highest intentions. By practicing mindfulness with our inner and outward storytelling, we reclaim our truth and take back the power of our own story!
In this 6-week workshop we will:
Discuss the histories and mysteries of storytelling as a tool of world-building
Explore meditation and movement practices that support our aligned self-expression
Select a story from our life to workshop and craft into an empowered performance piece for a final show
Practice tools for performance that can be carried into public speaking, self-expression and mindful communication of all forms
This is a 7-week course that meets Tuesdays from Nov. 7 - Dec. 12 (no in-person session Thanksgiving week) from 7-9pm at Green Yogi Telegraph. There will be 6 weeks of practice and play, followed by a public performance hosted at Green Yogi!
This workshop is for anyone interested in storytelling, theater and performance, and for those seeking to work on their inner stories for greater empowerment. Note: this is not a yoga class! But movement and mindfulness practices will be woven into the activities.
Exchange: $333 ($303 for Early Birds before 10/15!)
**Scholarships available for BIPOC folks, please email for further inquiry events@mygreenyogi.com
