"Yoga of Sound Vibrations" is a live music mantra meditation, a collective call and response style of music that incorporates Sanskrit mantras, a variety of instruments and our voices! With the potency to relax the body and free the mind, music meditation is one of the most powerful forms of yoga meditation.
A very special event of beautiful music and devotional singing. Coming back to the Bay Area is Madhava's Kirtan Forever.
Madhava, who began playing music at age 5 and singing kirtan at age 18, is considered one of the most influential figures in the global kirtan scene.
Embark on this vocal journey through the sacred sounds of ancient India. Drawing from an unbroken tradition of Indian devotional singing, Madhava will introduce and lead us in the ancient practice of "Kirtan" (or chanting), the heart of devotional yoga. This practice of calling to the divine creates a bridge between the individual and the eternal, opening the heart and welcoming the spirit. Sometimes soft and meditative and sometimes loud and wildly rhythmic, Kirtan takes the participant on a deep emotional and musical journey through our mostly unexplored inner world. With solo performance and call-and-response group chanting, Madhava creates a space of invocation, prayer, and heartfelt expression.
No previous experience is needed. This is an exploration of the heart, independent of vocal or musical technique. $20
