Shakthi Ganeshan

IG @SHAKTHIRADIANT

Shakthi Ganeshan takes joy in conveying the transformative power of mindfulness practices, in transmitting Ayurveda, and in teaching the grounding practice of physical asana in the yoga tradition. Shakthi’s family descends from a yogic lineage. She studies with renowned teachers Shiva Rea, Sarah Powers, Rodney Yee, and Timothy Lynch, drawing wisdom from both Iyengar and Astanga lineages. Twelve years of training in Indian Classical Dance with Ratna Kumar enriched her understanding of movement, mudras, and Vedic philosophy, which infuse her teaching with grace and depth.

Shakthi has been teaching yoga, yoga retreats, and yoga events for 20 years. Shakthi’s classes are a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds, races, genders, and identities. Having personally experienced exclusion and having also experienced the toll of overwork, she is committed to fostering justice, inclusion, and healing. Her mission is to help others break free from patterns of burnout and rediscover balance and vitality.

Shakthi’s zoom classes, workshops, healing events and retreats are deeply healing. Follow her journey on Instagram @shakthiradiant or visit her website at sumatishakthiganeshan.podia.com.

Before transitioning to holistic healing, Shakthi trained as a medical doctor at Baylor College of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Ohio State University. Her dedication to mindfulness led her to extensive meditation training, including multi-month retreats at Insight Meditation Society (IMS) and Spirit Rock. She has learned from esteemed teachers like James Baraz, Jack Kornfield, and Joseph Goldstein. Shakthi completed the Community Dharma Leaders program in 2017. Shakthi co-founded Assaya Sangha, where she guides weekly meditation sessions in-person and online at assayasangha.org.

Beyond teaching Dharma, Shakthi enjoys cooking Ayurvedic meals, circle singing, sacred dance, and hiking.
