Breathwork and Beats with Michael Giannico

  • Green Yogi Telegraph 2807 Telegraph Ave. Berkeley (map)

This 10 part, full spectrum breathwork sequence with music will settle you down into your body, bring your system into coherence, nourish your cells, and build emotional resilience leaving you in an energized yet centered state. We start with stretches and movements to open different neuropathways and energize the cells and then move from calming breathing up to faster breathing and deeper practices like visualizations, breath holds, locks and pushes. The music acts as a unifying force and a guide.
The benefits of this workshop will last for days and you can use these individual practices as you see fit.

This is not extreme breathwork. This practice is not dressed up in robes and flowery language. This is a physical practice that becomes spiritual with your awareness. All you need to do is follow along and let go.

WHY ARE WE DOING BREATHWORK?

Breath control is the doorway into the nervous system. It will allow you to regulate your body state which is a large portion of your emotional state. Emotional dysregulation causes you to be a passenger In your body. It means that your environment is controlling how you feel, think, and react. When you practice breathwork along with awareness you can be the pilot and not a passenger so that you may respond with intention to life and stay emotionally centered.

- Learn to calm yourself as well as activate your body systems

- Practice being present with your breath to train your awareness and map your mind/body

- Enhance immune system function Regulate chronic pain

- Release tension, fear and stuck energies

- Improve cardiovascular fitness

- Expand your range of comfort with different emotional states. (Emotional resilience)

- Heal through community and connection

- Have fun and enjoy this one wonderful life
