Erin Skelly
True to her busy-mind/bookworm nature, Erin’s journey to yoga began 30+ years ago with a German Hatha yoga book from the 1960s, eventually leading to her teenage yoga rebellion in a small Florida town. This was the start of a lifelong practice of searching for inner quiet and connection between the mind, body, and spirit. More recently, yoga has been a path to personal recovery and healing.
Erin’s practice has focused on contemplative yoga modalities and traditions- Yin, Restorative, beathwork- that allow one to come home to one’s self, to find inner stillness. In her practice, she seeks to help her fellow travelers to find rest, contentment, and the simple joy of embodiment.
Erin received her yoga teacher training at Square One Yoga, and has a B.A. in Religion and M.A. in Philosophy, with special interests in group ecstatic spiritual experience, as well as the mind-body problem. She is also most grateful to her feline yogi teachers, Lula and Jonesy. You can usually find her with her nose in a feminist science fiction book, accompanied by headphones playing shimmery ambient music.
