Miyuki Tamura
Miyuki is an immigrant from Japan. She is an Ashtanga lover and teacher, a watercolor artist, co-owner of a small business, Santosha, and a staff at Green Yogi.
Miyuki started her yoga practice in 2014. She experienced great self-realization during her first yoga class and she started going to yoga class every day. She wanted to deepen her practice and knowledge of yoga and she found Ashtanga Yoga. She has been a devoted Ashtanga practitioner since.
Years of daily Ashtanga Yoga practice gradually healed her traumas and helped her to reconnect to her deeper self. Now, she is confident and strong and not afraid to follow her heart. Miyuki appreciates Ashtanga Yoga practice very much. She wants to share her knowledge with others.
Miyuki has practiced Ashtanga yoga with Certified Ashtanga Yoga teacher Magnolia Zuniga, authorized teacher Timothy Linch and Vance Selover. She took a total of 500 hour teacher training with Certified Ashtanga Yoga teacher, Kino MacGEGOR and authorized teacher Tim Feldman, Yoga philosophy scholar, Edwin Bryant, Chase Bossart, and many more great teachers.
In 2023, Miyuki went to Mysore, India to practice under the head teacher, the grandson of Pattabis Jois, Sharath Jois for the first time. Being exposed to the local culture and practicing with Ashtanga Yoga practitioners from all over the world, she felt the true meaning of ishvara pranidhana—surrender to God.
Miyuki has a Bachelor degree in Human Development and she also has a background in nursing in Japan and Montessori preschool teaching in the US. To get to know her more, follow her on IG @Miyukithing.
