Nasiem Sandijeh | Green Yogi Owner

Nasiem is an Iranian-American whose family values instilled the meaning of caring for family and community into her essence. This has been the ethos to her path of caring for people, emotions, and spaces. As a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA),  she spent her time in special education classrooms and with families, developing behavioral programs that supported the emotional regulation and life-skills for children and teens with special needs.

Alongside her work in behavioral health, Nasiem began to fall in love with inner relationship and sense of calm that her Yoga practice would provide.

Driven by her love of yoga and its transformative effects, Nasiem deepened her understanding of the mind and body in the early 2000’s  through trainings like Therapeutic yoga, JivaMukti, Breathe for Change (a social emotional yoga training focused on the improvement of mental health classrooms). Following her passion for human connection and emotional wellness, she pursued a year of studies at the Interchange Counseling Institute and close to a decade of devoted practice to communication modalities like NVC and T-Group.

In her early years of teaching, she volunteered to teach yoga to nurses and doctors, learning firsthand how the practice can foster deeper interpersonal dynamics and emotional resilience. This experience sparked a desire to create a community where individuals could use yoga not just for physical well-being, but also as a tool for personal and interpersonal reflection and self tending. As the director and nurturer of Green Yogi, she is dedicated to creating a space where people can experience the refuge, introspection, and self-care she believes are essential for meaningful connection with our inner world and compassion for the experience of one another.
